Concrete Specifications

To ensure you get high-quality, durable concrete, the right specifications must be chosen for your mix, achieving a composition suitable for each application.

Choosing the Right Type of Concrete

Choosing the right concrete grade will depend on factors such as the strength of concrete required and its intended use. For example, you’ll want a different concrete mix for a shed base than you do for roadworks.

Once you know which type of concrete you need, the ideal mix of cement, water and ballast is used to create it, ready to be poured.

Concrete Specifications

Here are some of the concrete grades we can supply and their possible applications.

  • C10/Gen 1 – This concrete grade is for general use, e.g. kerbsides, drainage works.

  • C15/Gen 2 – This grade is ideal for strip footings and for any floors that will be covered in another material, i.e. carpet or tiles.

  • C20/Gen 3 – This concrete mix is used for footings and slab foundations under residential properties such as houses and bungalows.

  • C25/ST2 – C25 concrete is a versatile mix used for both domestic and commercial applications. This includes foundations, footings, patios. It is also the chosen mix for shed bases.

  • C30 – C30 concrete is used for applications such as driveways, garage bases and paving.

  • C35 – This range of concrete grades are highly durable, selected for raft foundations, power floating and agricultural uses.

  • C40 – C40 is one of the strongest concrete grades, chosen for roadworks, structural and agricultural applications.
